Use technology, including the internet, to produce and publish writing as well as to interact and collaborate with other; demonstrate sufficient command of keyboarding skills to type a minimum of three pages in a single sitting Rationale for Objective: In previous classes we have been learning about the presidents that have influenced the country greatly. For this part of the lesson, the students will focus on using technology to share what they learned with the rest of the class. Rationale By the end of the lesson the students will be able to identfy the 4 founding fathers of the US and the important things they did for the betterment of our country. Materials/Resources: computer, books, Daily Formative Assessments: Students will be given independent time to work on their projects with their groups. This assessment will be based on accuracy, creativeness, and completion of the project Differentiating Instruction: Pair students in groups, each group should have 4 people, unless some students need more independent work to do. Initiation: Explain to the students that they will be learning about the Presidents of the US, and that we would not be standing here today all together in the same room if it were not for these 4 men. Not only will the students have to share their own learning, they will also be responsible for what they learned from their peers. Lesson Development
1. In previous class, introduce the role of the President
2. Explain how the President makes alot of important decisions
3. Introduce the 4 founding fathers and show a photo of mt Rushmore.
4. Give a small intoduction on each of the men, but don't give too much information because they will need to do some of their own research.
5. Tell the students they will be broken into groups and will be presenting to the class about what they learned on a specific president.
6. They have access to the internet and can use any technology based presentation to share their findings.
7. Give the students the rest of the class period to begin work on their project.
8. Pick up the lesson for the next day in class.
9. On the third day with this topic, the students will present what they learned to the class. Closure They will be assessed on how well they complete the task, how creative they are, and the accuracy of their information. It is so important that the students know how difficult it was to get here to where we are today. It was not always easy for people, but we have made progress to become a great country
